It's A Dr. Orna Guralnik Summer (and Fall, and Winter, and Spring)
I asked the Couples Therapy star to ID the pieces that made me lean in and say, "and what's....happening here?"
Some people have Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, others have Mary Kate and Ashley Olson. I have Dr. Orna Guralnik.
I’ve been mesmerized by her tiny surprise braids, tough leather bracelets, and asymmetrical cashmere sweaters since Couples Therapy premiered in 2019. Her sartorial choices amplify her intellectual fortitude, quiet confidence, and yes, sensuality. To embody sensuality in a professional setting, while staying completely appropriate, while mining the decidedly unsexy world of marital turmoil…this is Mensa-level stuff.
A Financial Times Interview by Sara Semic shed some light on Dr. Guralnik’s cultivated aesthetic, including a recent Yohji Yamamoto purchase and a love for the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark (great minds think alike).
Hungry for more, I e-mailed Dr. Guralnik to inquire about some of the pieces she sports in season 4, part 2 of Couples Therapy, and to my delight, she actually responded.
My instincts were correct: plenty of Issey Miyake, Proenza Schouler, and more Yohji Yamamoto. Below, I’ve gathered some of my favorite looks from this season—complete with either exact product IDs or inspired-by options. While much of her jewelry is one-of-a-kind and collected from her travels, I’ve also included Orna-adjacent picks for those feeling inspired.
Let’s begin.
